What does fierce femininity mean to you?
To be able to lay in your own skin comfortably.
Share with us an experience that required you to be confident, courageous and have faith? An experience that made you FIERCE!
I am a survivor against breast cancer. I was diagnosed at age 27 and 37. I overcame that obstacle with strength and perseverance to live. I didn’t allow cancer to take my zest for life.
What did this experience teach you about yourself?
We all are faced with obstacles in our life. Mine was breast cancer. It was the curse that saved my life because it taught me what was really important. God, Family, and Success.
What is a practical step that helped you in this experience that could help another woman in a similar situation?
You can’t get so caught up on things you can’t control. Instead realize what the lesson behind that situation. Often it’s a testimony behind the test.
What is something you do on a consistent basis to help boost your confidence?
I love affirmations and I enjoy journaling.
What book/podcast are you currently reading or listening to?
I am reading “Wholeness” by Touré Roberts.
What is your favorite quote or scripture that makes you feel powerful and fierce?
We all have a dynamic purpose in our lives. It’s our job to know it, feel it and be it.
What is one final gem you would like to share with our fierce femmes who have been diagnosed with breast cancer?
Cancer may have you but you don’t have it. You are more than a conqueror, and you ARE Too FABULOUS FOR CANCER. Declare you will not allow this obstacle take my zest for life.
What are some ways that we can all get involved to help fight breast cancer and support patients, survivors, and their families?
I suggest helping people on a local level, right in your community. Find local charities, churches, and organizations to support. I have a charity organization I created to help women feel beautiful during their journey called Too Fabulous for Cancer. We provide glam makeovers, photoshoots, and stipends to help with co-pays, and parking at the hospital.
Do you have any products/programs/events/promotions that you would like our readers to be aware of?
I have Tailgate for a Cause coming up on Nov 18, 2018 Too Fabulous for Cancer Organization partnered up with NFL Players Association and we are raising money to help breast cancer patients.
We have a Red & Black Affair with our nonprofit Eric Matthews Foundation where we gift toys and coats for low income families on Dec 9, 2018.
I also have an upcoming Soulfood Sessions with Niya Retreat Feb 8-10, 2019 where we help women recharge their mind, body and soul.
